Preventing & Negating Hearing Loss

The three sections of the human ear. Left to right: sound waves travel from the outer ear via the ear canal to the tympanic membrane (eardrum) where those waves are transformed into mechanical energy and amplified by the three bones in the middle ear. The last bone, the stapes, is attached to the inner ear or cochlea, which converts the mechanical energy into electrical impulses, which are carried along the cochlear or auditory nerve.
